Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, has commissioned the newly- built astro- turf at Changli , Kulikuli School, in the Tamale Central Constituency.

The utlra modern AstroTurf with floodlights was initiated by Honourable Ibrahim Murtala, funded by Ghana Gas and construsted by Blaze Investment Company Limited.

The Sports facility which is the first of its kind in the Constituency would promote sports development in the Constituency and region at large.

In a brief speech at the inauguration ceremony, Honourable Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the CEO, Board and Management of Ghana Gas Company Limited for providing funding for the beautiful football pitch for the Tamale Central Constituency.

The MP also expressed his profound gratitude to the Member Of Parliament for Tamale South , Lawyer Haruna Iddrisu for the role played to secured the project.

Honourable Ibrahim Murtala revealed that the edifice has been exceptionally especially the specifications and thanked the contractor .

The MP indicated that the astroturf has come to serve the community irrespective of party colours, and also to nurture football talents in the constituency.

He also acknowledged the cordial collaborations between him and the Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive for the successfully completion of the project.

On his part, Mr Edomgbole Nwiah Anyimah , Project Manager, Ghana Gas , said, the FIFA standard AstroTurf with Floodlights is the first of its kind in the Northern Region.

He urged the management committee of the AstroTurf to ensure the maintenance of the facility .

Honourable Sule Salifu, Tamale Mayor, said, the construction of the sports facility reaffirms government commitment of investment in proving infrastructure particularly the AstroTurfs.

He expressed his profound gratitude to the Ghana Gas and appealed for more projects in the Tamale Metropolis.

On behalf of Chiefs and Community Leaders of Changli, Nyab Takoro, said, the entire community are excited for such befitting edifice and assured the Member Of Parliament, Ghana Gas, and Tamale Mayor of their commitment to ensure the maintenance of the facility.

The Chairman of the management Committee, Coach Dawooh,on behalf of the members of the committee , said, the
committee shall ensure the maintenance of the facility.

Residents of the area shared their excitement with the media, and expressed their profound gratitude to the Member Of Parliament.
