Gushegu MP Honours Deserving Teachers and Students On Independence Day

The Member of Parliament for Gushegu Constituency and Deputy Minister For Transport, Hon. Alhaji Lawyer Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli sponsored awards to hard working teachers and students in his constituency on the 67th independence day celebration of Ghana.

The 67th independence Anniversary was commemorated across the country on the March 6, 2024, with the national one held in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua under the theme, ‘Our Democracy, Our Pride’.

The occasion in the Gushegu Municipality was celebrated in a grand style, with the Member of Parliament awarding hard working teachers and students.

The Best Teacher awards were categorised as follows;

First, Second and Third Best Teachers for Kindergarten, Primary, Junior High School, and Senior High School levels.

First Best Teachers in all levels received HP Laptop Computers each, Second Best Teachers received two (2) packets of roofing zinc and a set of Multi TV decoder, whilst Third Best Teachers received two (2) packets of roofing zinc.

The Best Student awards were Categorised into, Best Female and Male BECE students and Best Female and Male WASSCE students. Each of them received a Laptop Computer.

There was a best promising soccer student who received a bicycle.

Mr Alhassan Fuseini of Gushegu Model Girls JHS was adjudged Municipal Overall Best Teacher. He took home a 42′ Plasma TV and an HP Laptop Computer as a prize.

The cost of the prizes amounts to Ghc44,600.00.
