The Chief Of Zagyuri, has expressed his profound gratitude to Honourable Felicia Tettey for dredging the Zagyuri Dam. Zagyuri Naa, made the remarks when he paid a visit to the ongoing dredging of the Dam for first hand information of the state of works.
The dredging of the community Dam has been fully funded by Felicia Tettey, Sagnarigu Constituency NPP Parliamentary Candidate. Residents of the area makes a passionate appeal to stakeholders and development partners to dredge the dam in order to retain enough water to serve the communities during the prolonged dry season in the area.
According to media reports, there has been water crisis in some parts of Northern Region, and many dams which serves as source of water for the residents dried up leaving several communities without water.
As part of her initiative to provide portable water for communities in the Sagnarigu Constituency, Mrs. Tettey has also drilled several boreholes and dredged dams to mitigate the perennial water crisis in the Constituency.
Some of the beneficiary communities of Mrs Tettey Water Projects are; Sorugu, Bogkurigu, Kogni, Katariga, Yong Duuni, Dabogshee ,
Yilonaayili, amongst others.
Speaking to the media, Mba Saha Naa, said, the community has benefited a lot of the benevolence of Mrs.Tettey in the areas of education, health and provision of portable water.
He ,thus, thanked Felicia Tettey for the full sponsorship of dredging the Zagyuri Dam.
Mma Asana Issahaku, disclosed that the water crisis in the community has affected them negatively since they have to walk to long distance in search of water .
She, therefore, expressed her praised Felicia Tettey for taking their burden of walking for long distances to search for water.
In a related development, some residents of the area declared their support for Mrs. Tettey and have committed themselves to campaigning for her to be elected as next Member of Parliament for the Sagnarigu Constituency. The Zagyuri Dam serves as source of water for many communities in the Sagnarigu Constituency.
