Zagyuri Wurishie Naa, on behalf of the Chief of Zagyuri and elders, has expressed profound gratitude to Honourable Felicia Tettey, Sagnarigu Constituency NPP Parliamentary Candidate for reconstruction of the community dam.
He made the remarks during a visit to the dam to inspect the ongoing dredging of the dam. Speaking to the media, he disclosed that the dam had never been dredged for a decade since construction.
He revealed that the situation has changed the water’s condition over years, reducing the velocity of the water flow along the dam , this, he said causes the dam to dry during dry season.
“I wish we have developers like Felicia Tettey in this community for the rapid development “. He said.
Nyab Wurishie Naa, disclosed that Felicia Tettey, has contributed a lot for the development of the community especially drilling of boreholes, women empowerment amongst others.
He, thus, pledged the traditional leaders support for Mrs. Tettey and prayed for her.
On his part, the Assemblyman for Zagyuri Electoral Area, Zakaria Mohammed Awal, said, the dredging of the dam is a relief for the entire community.
He recounted the perennial water crisis in the community especially during dry season. He believes the dredging of the dam would reduce the water crisis in the community.
Honourable Assemblyman, assured that they would also reciprocate Felicia Tettey generosity her bid to become the Member Of Parliament for the Sagnarigu Constituency.
Residents of the Zagyuri Community, have also expressed gratitude to Mrs. Tettey for intervening to rehabilitate the dam.
Adiza Zakaria, a resident, prayed for God’s guidance and blessing for Felicia Tettey to continue to support the community to improve their livelihoods.
Mma Amama, sharing her experience with the media, said, they depend on the dam for water for domestic purposes and that since the dam dried, women and children have been worst affected.
However, she, revealed that residents are excited for the intervention of Honourable Felicia Tettey to reconstruct the dam.
