In a display of gratitude and commitment to his roots, Ing. Denis N.K Amui, the Head of Operations for GOIL, has funded the construction of a modern computer Labouratory at the Yapei Presbyterian Junior High School.
Ing. Amui and officers of the Oil Marketing Company inaugurated the project last Monday to mark a significant milestone in bridging the technological gap for pupils, particularly at his alma mater.
The ceremony to inaugurate the IT lab commenced with a visit to the chief’s palace in Yapei, where Ing. Amui, alongside notable figures including Prof. Patience Abor from the University of Ghana Business School, was warmly received by Yapeiwura A.B.T Zacharia and the community.
Reflecting on his formative years spent in Yapei, Ing. Amui reminisced about his cherished memories as a student, emphasizing the invaluable role of the school and community in shaping his journey. He fondly recalled the camaraderie of football matches, the allure of swimming in the White Volta, and the culinary delights of local cuisine.
Gratitude overflowed as Ing. Amui acknowledged the pivotal role of Mr. Yakubu Issah, the founding headmaster, in his personal and academic development. In a touching gesture, he honored Mr. Issah with a citation and surprised him with a brand new motorbike and fuel coupons, symbolizing his enduring appreciation and support.
The ceremony, attended by students, teachers, stakeholders, and local officials, was marked by engaging sessions and palpable excitement. Ing. Amui reaffirmed his commitment to Yapei, pledging continued support to enrich the lives of its residents.
