In response to an appeal a fortnight ago, Mrs Felicia Tettey, made available to the chief of the community, a 150,000 Cedis cash amount needed to fund the dredging and expansion of the dam which remains the only source of water for the people of Garizegu and surrounding communities.

Nyeb Garizegu Silimboma Naa who spoke on behalf of the Chief and elders of the community reiterated the importance of the Dam, saying that apart from serving as a source of water for household use, it also served irrigation purposes for women who farm vegetables in the dry season.
He pointed out that the drying up of the water body has not only disrupted social lives but economic activities as the farmers have lost their means of livelihood due to the lack of water for their crops.
The Chief therefore commended Mrs Tettey, saying her intervention will bring huge relief to women and children of the community who everyday travel long distances in search of water.
