Sahakpegu and Ngaru Communities Finally Connected to National Grid: Relief and Jubilation Ensue
After years of appeals, the communities of Sahakpegu and Ngaru are now connected to the national grid, marking a significant milestone in their development journey.
The electrification project, spearheaded by Hon Felicia Tettey, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Sagnarigu was turned on last night with the help of the Chief of the Communities amidst excitement and jubilation.
Expressing profound appreciation, the Chief of Sahakpegu lauded Hon Felicia Tettey for her dedication to fulfilling the community’s long-standing request.
Assemblyman, Issah Baba, highlighted the provision of 262 polls and two transformers, thanking Mrs. Tettey, the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly, and the government for their efforts in extending electricity to the communities.
Residents, such as Saharatu Alhassan and Mr. Fuseini Mohammed, shared their excitement, emphasizing the end to the inconvenience of traveling long distances to charge phones and access essential services.
They also noted the positive impact on children’s education, with improved study conditions now possible.
In her address, Hon. Felicia Tettey reaffirmed her commitment to community development, citing the electrification project as evidence of her dedication.
She urged residents to consider development when casting their votes, highlighting her track record of initiatives such as dam dredging, borehole installation, road reshaping, and support for women’s groups and widows.
Closing with a passionate appeal for continued support, Mrs. Tettey emphasized her deep roots in the constituency, pledging to prioritize the needs and aspirations of the people of Sagnarigu.
