Residents Of Daboya in the North Gonja District can now benefit from a new technical, vocational and community development training institute. The school aims at providing technical education and skills development for the young people in the Daboya area.
The institute, known as CIID Technical Institute, is established by the Savannah Regional Chairman, Prof Iddirisu Sulemana Kalamonia.
The Assemblyman for Daboya West, Hon. Takoro Issah, expressed his gratitude to Prof. Kalamonia for the initiative, which offers free technical and vocational skills training to the less privileged in the constituency and the region.
Sulemana Yatasu,one of the community members, shared her excitement about the Positive impact the institute would have on her life.She mentioned that she had always wanted to learn hairdressing but couldn’t afford the fees.
The free training offered by the institute enabled her to pursue her passion without financial burden.
Mr. Mohammed Sadat, the Administrator of CIID Technical Institute, highlighted the purpose of the Institute, which is to unlock the potential of young constituents who could not access Tertiary education.
The Institute, accredited to offer courses in Cosmetology, Electronics, Plumbing, Garment, Brick and Tile Laying aims to promote technical and vocational education in the constituency.
Mr . Sadat emphasized that the institute is non- political and urged youth and women to apply for the program. He also expressed his appreciation to Prof. Kalamonia for equipping the institute with modern training facilities.
The duration of the training is eight months.
The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the socio- economic development of the region by providing essential skills to its youth.
