Children Believe Ghana Donates Medical Supplies and Logistics to Health Facilities in Northern Region

Children Believe has generously donated medical supplies and logistics to health facilities in the Northern Regions of Ghana.

During a brief ceremony to handover the donations to the Ghana Health Service, Ms. Esenam Kavi De Souza, the Country Director of Children Believe Ghana, highlighted the importance of a strong healthcare system in delivering quality and expected health services.

She expressed gratitude to the People of Canada and Global Affairs Canada for funding the CHANGE Project, “Championing Nutrition and Gender Equality,” implemented by Children Believe and NORSAAC in Ghana.

The donated medical supplies and logistics include 30 Yamaha Motorbikes, 30 Laptops, 54 pieces of pediatric stethoscopes, 54 pieces of thermometers (Rectal and Low Reading), 216 hemoglobin detectors, among other essential items.

The focus of the donation is to strengthen health service delivery, particularly in rural areas, to bridge the existing gap between rural and urban healthcare services.

Ms. Esenam Kavi De Souza urged the Regional and District Directors of health services to ensure prompt delivery of the medical supplies and logistics to the designated health facilities to enhance healthcare provision in the target areas.

Eric Chimsi, Senior Development Officer at the Canadian High Commission, emphasized Canada’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at advancing the health and rights of women and girls globally, as part of a ten-year commitment from 2020 to 2030.

The CHANGE PROJECT, implemented in Ghana and Ethiopia, focuses on improving nutrition for the most marginalized populations, particularly women, adolescent girls, and young children.

The project aims to achieve sustainable outcomes in health, nutrition, and economic empowerment to support these vulnerable groups.

The Northern Regional Director of Health Services, on behalf of the Ghana Health Service and Regional Directors of Health Services, expressed profound gratitude to Children Believe Ghana and Global Affairs Canada for their support in facilitating health service delivery in the Northern, Savanna, and Upper East Regions.

He assured that the donated logistics would be effectively utilized at the beneficiary health facilities to enhance healthcare services and improve health outcomes in the regions.
