The paramount Chief of Sagnarigu thas expressed profound gratitude to Vice President Bawumia and NPP’s PC, Felicia Tettey, for their efforts in securing numerous development projects for the area.
Naa Ambassador Yakubu Abdulai was speaking at his palace following a courtesy call on him by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 flagbearer of ruling New Patriotic Party, as part ofnhis campaign tour of the Northern Region.
The Chief highlighted the impact of Tettey’s advocacy, noting significant projects such as the Agenda 111 Project, a Craft Centre for skills training, an AstroTurf facility, livestock market, among others. These initiatives, he credited, have notably enhanced the socio-economic landscape of the Sagnarigu traditional area.
He also commended Vice President Bawumia for his role in facilitating these developments while urging him to address outstanding challenges including the area’s poor road network, water and sanitation issues, and security concerns.
In response, Felicia Tettey expressed gratitude to the constituents for their unwavering support, particularly acknowledging her achievement of winning several polling stations during the 2020 elections despite not securing the parliamentary seat.
She emphasized her commitment to continuing efforts for the constituency’s progress, citing projects like the Sagnarigu Animals Market, road reconstruction, dam dredging, borehole drilling, and market upgrades, achieved with the support of Vice President Bawumia.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in his address, highlighted his administration’s achievements in the region, citing 33 policy initiatives including the Ghana Card rollout, Drone Services, and extensive road constructions such as the Yendi to Zabzugu and Tatale Roads, and the Tamale Interchange.
He urged the people of Sagnarigu to elect him as President, contrasting his track record with what he termed as former President John Mahama’s failures to address similar challenges during his tenure.
Bawumia also underscored the restoration of Teacher Training and Nurses’ allowances, contrasting his potential 8-year term against the possibility of Mahama serving only 4 years if elected.
He further called upon Sagnarigu voters to recognize and reward Felicia Tettey for her dedicated efforts in bringing development to the constituency.
The visit concluded with assurances from both Bawumia and Tettey of their commitment to further advancing the socio-economic prosperity of Sagnarigu Constituency, pledging continued collaboration with local leaders and stakeholders to address ongoing challenges and implement further development initiatives.
