Bawumia Commends CIID Technical Institute for Promoting Vocational Education in Savanna Region
During his recent campaign tour of the Savanna Region, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited the CIID Technical Institute situated in Daboya, where he lauded the institute’s efforts in advancing vocational education.
The institute, established by the Savanna Regional Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Iddirisu Suleimana, affectionately known as Prof. Kalamonia, offers free technical and vocational training to underserved youth in the North Gonja District.
In his address, Vice President Bawumia commended Prof. Kalamonia for establishing a pivotal educational initiative aimed at empowering young people through skill development.
He praised the institute’s commitment to providing alternative educational pathways for those who may not have access to traditional tertiary education.
The CIID Technical Institute is accredited to deliver various courses including cosmetology, electronics, plumbing, garment making, and brick and tile laying.
These programs are designed to equip students with practical skills that enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential, thereby contributing to local economic growth.
Vice President Bawumia emphasized the government’s dedication to improving educational opportunities and vocational training as crucial steps towards reducing youth unemployment and fostering overall development in the North Gonja District and the broader Savanna Region.
The Vice President encouraged the management, staff, and students of CIID Technical Institute to sustain their admirable efforts in promoting education and skills development within the community.
