The Ghana Health Service, represented by Madam Joana A. Quarcoo, the Yendi Municipal Health Director, has lauded Race 4 AID for the donation of a newly constructed health facility in Bago, a move expected to significantly enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
The facility, officially inaugurated during a well-attended ceremony, is seen as a critical step towards improving access to healthcare and achieving universal health coverage in the region.
Expressing her gratitude on behalf of the Ghana Health Service, Madam Joana Quarcoo extended special thanks to Dr. Abdulai Al-Mihiya and Sheikh Mubarak Alhiyiha, whose financial contributions, through Race 4 AID, made the project a reality.
She emphasized that the facility represents more than just a building—it symbolizes hope, compassion, and a commitment to bettering the health and well-being of Bago and its surrounding communities.
“Race 4 AID’s generosity is truly commendable, and we are incredibly grateful for their support,” Madam Joana stated.
She further appealed for additional investments to improve the facility’s infrastructure, including the construction of urinals and toilets to enhance comfort and sanitation for visitors, staff, and patients.
Additionally, she called for the connection of the facility to the national electricity grid, the installation of a water supply system, and the building of a perimeter fence to ensure security and convenience.
The Chief Imam of Bago, Sheikh Alhaji Issahak Mohammed Bago, delivered remarks on behalf of the Chief and people of Bago, praising Race 4 AID and its partners for delivering such a critical service to the community.
He noted that this health facility is the first of its kind in the area and would have a lasting impact on the well-being of the residents.
The Yendi Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Ahmed Yussuf Abubakar, also expressed his appreciation to the Founder and CEO of Race 4 AID, Alhaji Mohammed Mutawakil Abubakari, as well as all the sponsors and contributors.
He urged the community to take responsibility for maintaining the facility and pledged continued collaboration with Race 4 AID and other stakeholders to address the additional needs highlighted by the Municipal Health Director.
Alhaji Mohammed Mutawakil Abubakari, the Municipal Chief Imam for Adenta and Founder of Race 4 AID, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to providing essential social amenities to underserved communities.
He shared how the decision to build the facility was in response to a heartfelt appeal made by the people of Bago when sponsors Dr. Abdulai Al-Mihiya and Sheikh Mubarak Alhiyiha visited the community.
Alhaji Mutawakil urged the formation of a committee to oversee the operations of the new health facility to ensure its efficient management and optimal service delivery for the people of Bago and neighboring communities.
Residents of Bago expressed relief that they would no longer need to travel to Yendi for healthcare services. They noted that this development marks a significant milestone in improving the community’s health and well-being.
In a related development, Race 4 AID has commissioned a new mosque in Nakpache, a community in the Yendi municipality. This will allow for the muslim community in the area to attend to prayers in comfort.
