The Tamale Metro Youth Employment Agency, has made significant strides in supporting youth empowerment by presenting start-up kits to beneficiaries of the Youth in Skills Training modules.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to help young people achieve self-employment and improve their livelihoods.
The beneficiaries completed various skills training programs, including courses in Beauty Care, Glazing Works, Plumbing, Plaster of Paris (POP), Carpentry, Auto Works, Welding and Fabrication, and Electrical Works.
Delivery his speech, Mr. Hamza Yakubu, the Manager of the Youth Employment Agency in Tamale Metro, emphasized the agency’s commitment to creating job opportunities for both youth and women in the region.
He reported that over a thousand beneficiaries are currently enrolled in different modules, and the newly introduced skills training initiative aims to equip young people with the necessary tools to become self-employed following their training.
Expressing gratitude to President Nana Akufo Addo and Vice President Dr. Bawumia, Mr. Hamza urged beneficiaries to support the NPP and vote for the party’s parliamentary candidates, framing their incoming leadership as essential for job creation.
Mr. Amin Ndung Natural, who oversees operations for the Youth Employment Agency in the Northern Region, highlighted the nationwide impact of the agency’s job creation efforts.
He noted that many graduates have already begun establishing their own businesses following the nationwide graduation ceremony held in Techiman.
He encouraged all beneficiaries to make the best use of the start-up kits provided.
Hon. Sule Salifu, the Tamale Mayor and NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Tamale Central, praised the introduction of the Youth in Skills Training modules, calling for beneficiaries, particularly women, to take the training seriously to alleviate their financial burdens.
He outlined ongoing development projects within the constituency, including the drilling of boreholes, the construction of an AstroTurf facility , and the provision of streetlights at the Abobao market.
He also revealed plans to construct four traffic lights in the metropolis to enhance road safety.
Addressing security concerns, Hon. Salifu highlighted the peaceful atmosphere in the metropolis and urged beneficiaries to trust the NPP, emphasizing his performance compared to previous NDC officials.
The Tamale South Constituency NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Alhaji Musah Fuseini, affirmed the value of the training program in combating unemployment.
He asserted that the NPP stands out as the only political party with a clear vision for job creation and development.
He also referenced impactful projects in the Northern Region, such as the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, the reconstruction of Jubilee Park, and the expansion of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
Despite not being a government appointee, he shared his efforts to initiate and fund various projects in Tamale South, including drilling boreholes and rehabilitating schools.
