
Over the weekend, Friends of Farouk Aliu Mahama (FOFAM) hosted a Unity Walk in Yendi aimed at enhancing unity and canvassing votes for Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama and Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming December 7 elections.

The event saw participation from numerous NPP Members of Parliament, parliamentary candidates, national and regional executives, constituency executives, and the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markins.

Addressing the constituents during the walk, Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markins praised the Member of Parliament, Hon. Farouk Aliu Mahama, for transforming the constituency and bringing significant development.He passionately appealed to the constituents to retain him to ensure the continuity of his beneficial work. He appealed to voters against “skirt and blouse” voting, urging them to support their own candidates.Afenyo-Markins expressed unwavering support for Hon. Farouk and encouraged voters to elect Dr. Bawumia, who would make history as the first Muslim President of Ghana.Hajia Safia Mohammed, Deputy National Women’s Organizer, also spoke at the event, asserting that it was evident across the country that Dr. Bawumia would win the elections.She encouraged the women of Yendi to unite and be part of the victory for both Dr. Bawumia and Alhaji Farouk.Former Yendi Constituency NPP Parliamentary Aspirant, Alhaji Osman Baba Daney, urged constituents to foster unity to ensure the incumbent MP retains his seat. He emphasized that Dr. Bawumia is the only presidential candidate capable of bringing development to the constituency and highlighted the importance of voting for both the presidential candidate and the incumbent MP, as they will both appear first on the ballot.Hon. Farouk Aliu Mahama expressed his gratitude to the organizers, dignitaries, supporters, and party faithful for participating in the health walk.He underscored his significant contributions to the development of Yendi before and during his tenure as an MP, including the rehabilitation of the Yendi Hospital Morgue, drilling of boreholes, agricultural support, and securing permanent jobs for youth at Cocoboard.Alhaji Farouk declared that Yendi has been transformed under his leadership and is now a new city. He criticized the NDC parliamentary candidate for being unable to cite any achievements contributing to the constituency’s development. “We are sending a clear message to Jofa and the Independent Candidate in Yendi that neither the NDC nor the Independent candidate can ever win Yendi,” he asserted.He made a final appeal for voters to choose Dr. Bawumia as the next President of Ghana and to cast their votes for him to help increase the NPP’s electoral success in the upcoming elections.
