Alhaji Alhassan, the father of Karim Alhassan, the victim of an alleged shooting incident involving the Tamale North NPP Chairman, Chairman Short, has expressed profound sorrow over the event.

He is calling for a thorough investigation and justice for his son.
Alhaji Alhassan revealed that he was heartbroken upon receiving the news that his son had been shot.

In a media address, he described the incident as barbaric and expressed disbelief that the Tamale North NPP Chairman could harm his biological son, emphasizing that there was no personal feud between them.

Reflecting on the situation, Alhaji Alhassan revealed that he significantly contributed to the electoral victory of Chairman Short, underscoring his disappointment with the shooting incident that has potentially shattered their relationship.

According to reports, Karim Alhassan was allegedly shot during a confrontation involving his youth group, known as the “Russians,” on the night of January 17, 2025.
Following the incident, the Northern Regional Executive Committee of the party, led by Chairman Samba, took decisive action by suspending Chairman Short for misconduct and referring the matter to the Regional Disciplinary Committee.
Members of the victim’s group have expressed their gratitude to the Northern Regional Executive Committee for the prompt suspension of Chairman Short.

However, they have also called for swift investigations and warned that they would take drastic measures, including threats to damage party properties, if Chairman Short’s suspension is revoked.
