Reverse Chairman Short Suspension With Immediate Effect To Prevent Escalation – Tamale North Constituency NPP Polling Station Executives, Electrol Area Coordinators.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP)Electrol Area Coordinators and Polling Station Executives of the Tamale North Constituency have raised urgent concerns regarding the suspension of their chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Fuseini Sadat, affectionately known as Chairman Short.

In a press conference held to address the issue, they expressed that the suspension is flawed, unjust, and potentially harmful to the unity and cohesion of the party.

Speaking on behalf of the Electrol Area Executives, Polling Station Executives, and some Constituency Executives, Adam Mohammed Amin articulated their grievances.
He highlighted that the Regional Executive Committee’s decision to suspend Chairman Short followed a petition from a small group of Polling Station and Electrol Area Executives.

The group contended that the process leading to the suspension lacked due process and fair hearing.
They asserted that Chairman Short was not informed of the specific allegations against him prior to the suspension, nor was he given an opportunity to defend himself during the Regional Executive Committee meeting that decided his fate.
Notably, out of 510 polling station executives within the Tamale North Constituency, only 50 individuals allegedly signed the petition against him.
Furthermore, many of those listed as petitioners have come forward via audio recordings to deny any knowledge of or involvement in the petition.
Some of them spoke to the media and distanced themselves from signing the petition to suspend Chairman Short.

In their statement, the Executives stated, “In maintaining unity and peace within the party, we respectfully request that the Regional Executive Committee respond to this petition within 14 days to prevent any escalation and to uphold the principles of justice and fairness within the party.”

They called for the immediate reversal of Chairman Short’s suspension and urged for his reinstatement while a thorough and impartial investigation is conducted by the Regional Disciplinary Committee.
Chairman Short’s suspension, which stemmed from a petition dated January 20, 2025, cited several alleged breaches and violations of the party’s constitution.
